Influence of Cu-Doping Concentration on the Structural and Optical Properties of SnO2 Nanoparticles by Coprecipitation Route

Tin dioxide (SnO2) nanoparticles doped with varying concentrations of copper were synthesized and characterized using various techniques. The X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that all undoped SnO2 samples had a rutile-type tetragonal structure. average crystalline size the estimated Scherrer’s formula Williamson–Hall plot decreased as dopant concentration increased. Images from scanning electron microscopy spherical grains in samples. transmission microscope was used to examine particle nature, nearly particles discovered. energy-dispersive spectroscopy analyses confirmed stoichiometrically composed expected elements copper, oxygen, tin. bandgap energy determined UV–visible diffuse reflectance spectra, it found decrease Cu2+ ion photoluminescence study at excitation wavelength 300 nm defect-oriented emissions between 350 500 nm. All obtained results showed physical properties can be easily engineered through Cu doping for optoelectronic applications low-cost coprecipitation method.
